The cottage

The keepers cottage has suffered considerably over the years, and was looking very tired. With no occupants for almost 20 years, the cottage had been somewhat reclaimed by nature.

The cottage has been restored to to its former glory and now hosts the staff office, plant room and bathroom on one side, with the latter half having now been developed into the kitchen for the visitor centre and café. The new visitor centre and café has replaced the old conservatory and has been designed tastefully, with the feature window having been made the same shape as the cottage door, creating a real feature.

The Interpretation:

Outside the cottage we have this interpretation, which gives a little about the history of the cottage and its previous occupants.
